Relaxing Full Body Massage
(Deep Acupressure & Swedish Massage)
Massage techniques have been used since ancient times for healing and preventing of problems. As an art it must be as old as man himself because to hold or rub an injured part is an instinctive reaction to the pain involved. As early as 5000 years ago the Chinese sage said in the Kung-Fu
“Early morning effleurage with the palm of the hand after a nights sleep when the blood is rested and the temper more relaxed, protects against cold, keeps the organs supple and prevents many minor ailments”
In the year 380BC, Hippocrates the Greek Physician wrote that “rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose and loosen a join that is too tight; can make flesh or cause parts to waste; hard rubbing binds, soft rubbing loosens”
In the early 19 th century a Swede by the name Henrick Ling, developed a scientific system of massage and exercise based on physiology. It is to Henrick Ling that we are indebted for our modern concept of Swedish massage.
